英语单词区别与如何牢记

　　There和their前一个词是地方副词，而后面一个词是物主代词，例如Their house is over there.

　　Principle和principal，Principle是信仰、价值观或基本事实，而principal的意思是学校的领导者或主要的事物。

　　Advice和advise 前者是个名词而后者是个动词，因此你可以通过给某人advice来advise此人。

　　你应该accept 还是except 一个邀请呢?Accept意思是接受或同意某事，而except 的意思是除开，excluding。

　　Borrow是借进，而lend是借出。例如Can I borrow your car? Sorry, I can't lend it to you today.

　　Despite和although这两个词有相似的意思但用法不同。Despite是个介词，而although是个连词。例如He won the race despite his injury,He won the race although he had an injury.

　　Affect和effect前者是个动词而后者是个名词，例如The effect of the war is enormous; it has affected all sectors of the economy.

　　Personal和personnel，你的personal信息包括你的名字、年龄和国籍，而personnel 的意思是公司的员工。Assure和ensure，assure某人就是去掉他们的疑虑或使之安心，而ensure的意思是确定某事的发生，例如：I assured him that you would be there, so please ensure that you get to the meeting on time。

　　你在饭后吃的是 dessert 还是desert?Dessert是一道甜菜，而desert是炎热干燥的沙漠。
