　　The issue of whether we should force parents to immunize their children againstcommon diseases is, in my opinion, a social rather than a medical question. Since weare free to choose what we expose our bodies to in the way of food, drink, or religionfor that matter, why should the question of medical "treatment" be any different?

　　Medical researchers and governments are primarily interested in overall statisticsand trends and in money-saving schemes which fail to take the inpidual's concernsand rights into consideration.While immunization against diseases such as tetanusand whooping cough may be effective, little information is released about theharmful effects of vaccinations which can sometimes result in stunted growth or evendeath.

　　The body is designed to resist disease and to create its own natural immunitythrough contact with that disease.So when children are given artificial immunity, wecreate a vulnerable society which is entirely dependent on immunization. In theevent that mass immunization programs were to cease, the society as a whole wouldbe more at risk than ever before.

　　In addition there is the issue of the rights of the inpidual. As members of a society,whys hould we be obliged to subject our children to this potentially harmful practice?

　　Some people may also be against immunization on religious grounds and their needsmust also be considered.

　　For these reasons I feel strongly that immunization programs should not beobligatory and that the inpidual should have the right to choose whether or not toparticipate.

　　医学研究人员及政府主要对总体数据和趋势以及省钱的方案感兴趣，很少考虑到个人的忧虑和权益。尽管接种疫苗对预防某些疾病是有效的，例如，破伤风以及百日咳，然而政府几乎不发布关于接种疫苗会产生的副作用，即使接种疫苗有可能导致发育不良甚至是死亡。

　　人类的身体能够有计划地抵抗疾病并且能够通过接触那种疾病产生抗体。因此当孩引门接受了人工疫苗时，我们就创造了一个脆弱的完全依赖于疫苗的社会。在这种情况下，如果群众接受免疫的项目被叫停，那么整个社刽各会面临前所未有的危险情况。

　　此外，这关系到个人权益的问题。作为社会成员，为什么必须让我们的孩子去做一个面临潜在危险的练习呢?还有一些人反对接种疫苗也是出于宗教信仰的考虑，他们的这种需求应该值得认真考虑。

　　根据以上这些原因，我强烈反对疫苗项目的义务化和责任化，个人应该享有接受或者不接受的权力。
